The Felting Process

It all begins with wool – raw and unspoiled, cleansed until its true softness returns. Colors come from nature itself: flowers, leaves, and herbs, each season offering its own palette. Through hours of patient felting with water and soap, loose fibers become a living textile. What emerges is felt that is not simply made, but grown – from earth, from nature, from care.

I love to wander into silence and in space, drifting through the Dutch or English landscape. There I find not only peace and new ideas, but also my finest fleeces. Wensleydale, Teeswater, Bluefaced Leicester - each breed carries its own character, its own shine and texture. Through their softness and beauty I feel a deep connection to the animal and the land from which they come. From these fleeces my work emerges: pure, honest, and nourished by nature itself.

'Hands dance, fibre listens to vibration, and wool becomes wonder in the rhythm of touch.'

It is the hands that do the work – patient and devoted, moving for hours in quiet rhythm. Each gesture is small, yet together they weave something greater. Time stretches, softens, becomes almost meditative. In this dance of fibre and touch, passion flows through the fingertips, and wool slowly transforms into something alive.
